Importance of English Language
For a human, language is the most important thing because it’s one of the main ways to communicate and interact with other people living around us. It keeps us in contact with other people. The English language is an example of the importance of a language because it is the international language and is spoken all around the globe at every nooks and corner of the world. It has become the most important language for people in many parts of the world.
The English language is the most widely used language in the field of communicating all over the globe. It is spoken as the first primary language in many countries. English is playing a vital role in many sections like education, medicine, engineering, and business. There are various other reasons that make the English language the most important language. Language is our primary source of communication. It’s the method through which we share our ideas and thoughts with others in a very understanding way. The English language also gives students access to information and research as well. Students who want to go to foreign countries especially European countries for education must have to learn English well.
English plays a very important role in our everyday life. There is great utility of the English language in the modern world, so, the use of English should be continued along with Nepali and other regional languages. In this land of lots of regional languages in different places and countries, English serves as a linking-language in terms of different countries. The English language is widely used in official communications. The abolition of English will adversely affect the office work in most of the countries. All the officers must have to know the English language, but many of them do not know other languages except their mother-tongue or regional language. Thus, they need to communicate with each other in the English language for their everyday work. So, if the officers are asked to say goodbye to the English language, they will face huge difficulty in the field of communications with people from different countries. The importance of English in education and student's life cannot be denied, it must be done in a well-mannered way.
English remains a major medium of instruction in lots of schools, mainly private schools are much more focused. There is a huge number of books that are printed in the English language. If English is abolished today, it will affect the education system not only in Nepal but also in the world. So, unless and until we translate all these books into various native languages, it may affect education. But this work is very hard and time-consuming indeed as well. Students who want to go abroad for education must have learned the English language well. If their command over English or communication using the English language is poor, then they may face difficulty in adjusting with the respective environment. The communication of a country with other countries takes place in the English language. For a developing country like Nepal, it is essential to be in constant intercourse with other countries in the English language.
