My Favorite Game Essay in English

I am fond of playing games. I play many sports, but my favorite game is football. Nowadays, it is a popular game in Nepal. It is played in all parts, in villages as well as in towns. It is played in the summer season.

The game requires a plain ground, 100 yards long and 55 yards broad. The game is played between two teams. Each team consist of 11 players: one goal-keeper, two full-backs, three half-backs and five forwards. The forwards play the offensive, while the other players are on the defensive. The forwards try to kick the ball into the goal of the opposite party. They checked by the defending players on the other side.

The team that scores more goals than the opposite party wins the game. Sometimes, an equal number of goals are scored, or there is no score by any side. It is called a drawn game. In such a case, the game is replayed. The game is played for 90 minutes with an interval of ten minutes for rest and change of sides.

There is a referee to supervise the game. He uses a whistle for this purpose. The game is stopped for a while when the ball goes out of the field, when a team scores a goal, or when there is a breach of rules, The referee is helped by two linesmen. They run along the two lines of the field. They wave a flag or a hankie when the ball goes out of the field.

The players are required to pay a fair game. They have to observe the rules of the game. No player can touch, the ball with his hands expect goal-keeper. They cannot push or hit any players. The player cannot run ahead of the ball into the goal area of the opposite party. In case of a breach of rules, a free kick is allowed against the offending side.

Football is an interesting game. It gives us pleasure as well as exercise. It makes us active and healthy. Ten players should play fair. If they play foul, the game loses its charm and some players may be hurt. The referee should be impartial and judge the game fairly. If he shows partially for any side. It may lead to quarrels and fights. The spectators also should be disciplined. They should not create any disturbance or make any interference.

Football matches are very interesting. They are watched by hundreds of people. We have some famous football tournaments. The most famous of them is the Tribhuvan shield Tournament. It is played in Kathmandu. It attracts native as well as foreign teams. Some other tournaments are held in other parts of the country.
